dear friends
-
Some thoughts on the writings of Wam Kat from Zagreb
will follow:

1. Wam is asking permanently what peace minded people should do in
such a desperate situation as it is now in former Yugo. First of all,
for any kind of peacefull solution, the understanding of the problem
is requested. International community resisted analyses spread about
militarised and totalitarian Yugo regime and thus was unable to act at
early enough stage. Peace process must be lounched ata early enough
stage. The sooner - the more violence can be avoided. It is in vain,
now, to torture our brains with what kind of peacefull solution might
exist for Bosnia and all its cities. You do not go to the dentist when
you want to fix your car and you do not go to peace activisis when you
want to stop the genocide.

Peace activists in the time of war can do social work, humanitarian
work, solidarity work - and in first place, they can remain thinking
independently. Enough task, dont you think. Besides, they can continue
issue warnings about military monster continuing its walk in the South-
East Europe. There is still time for at least some action concerning
Kosovo. Is there anybody moving on it? Several appeals we have sent
from Ljubljana met almost no response - and yet - in few weeks
everybody will burden the pacifist mind with questions about
sanctions against apartheid regime which will manifest in Kosovo.

To conclude - peace movements do not have to discuss military battles.
We have many other things to do and to discuss. Military sanctions are
in their peak already - if US will join the game, the game will be only
more militaristic (for the planet). When nobody wants to hear about
peace proposals - some even lough to them, then there is enough room
for militarism. Balkans is now its comfortable home.

2. Wam is asking if people read his Zagreb Diary. I must confess, that
I have problems with it. It is hard to consume so many words, it is
hard to select from a "novel" kind of recordings the information that
I could use in the arguments, interpretations, actions. I'm ussualy
not interested if you (Wam) woke up at 6, washed your face, rang the
office, met XXXX, watched TV ect. . If you (wam) could condense the
information, it would really help! Besides you (wam) should in my view
pay much more effort to reliability of your info. I understand you have
difficulties with translations (when people translate you things, do
make an effort to have people sit down and do it correctly), I
understand you are in a country only a month and your picture is
unclear. You might call it freedom of information?? I must confess that,
despite my deepest interest, I read the diary with more and more-
skiping. It will help when other people in the center will write in the
Email or in the diary directly.

-Nevertheless, the diary gives an exostive inside into the life of the
ARK - from one dimension, but still, at least from one dimension.

-peace and encouragement
