Zagreb Diary

Dobar Dan,

HaHaHaHaHaDeZe HaHaHaHaHADeZe ....... (jiggle for HDZ), it is elections, every where by now, on television all of the 4 big ones, at least in their elections budget and financial possibilities, HDZ, HSLS (Social Liberals), HNS (I can't say any else then Savka's party) and last but not least, maybe not in size, but surely in noise, HSP (from Paraga), have their own commercials. 

Savka staring dreaming in the sky and behind here her self 20 years ago, her country in war, etc... and the future in sky. HSP used the raps from the American army, He Man, He Man, HSP, HSP, UNPROFOR HAS TO GO, UNPROFOR HAS TO GO.....

Fight on the tube, fights on the radio, in the newspapers and and the battle front the poster wars, inclusive people beating each other up , but killing or shootings are not yet reported, but fighting with knives and wooden sticks are happening more and more. Somehow it seems to be equally divided among the parties, none of them excluded at this moment. 

HDZ is spending 2 million Dmarks in this elections, HSLS and HNS must also at least spend 1 million or more and HSP  a little less than a million, but they also have their own army which makes propaganda. The injection in local and foreign printing houses must have been enormous. I often have the idea that they don't know where to put them in Zagreb anymore, so every morning shop keepers are busy to get posters from their shopwindows. And if they are unlucky they have had a visit from 3 different parties over night, we obvious try to glue over the first ones. 

But it is an adventure, I saw an old lady, I think around 60 or more with a bag full of self made posters for Tudjman in the Center of town putted her posters up with cellotape on walls, that's not the best way. Or a father with his two little sons, 8 and 10 I guess, who was busy to glue for HSLS, he did it for his first time, that was clear, he had a small cup with some wall paper glue, I think, a very small paintbrush and firstly if looks if he wanted to paint the wall (just around the corner of a main street, a little in the dark), but after some time he saw that his work of art looked well enough to start to but the poster on. He glue it up, turn it to the right a little, then a little to the left, took some steps distance, turn it a little more to the left and a little down. Etc. the whole show took about half an hour for one poster and seen the bag one of his sons carried they had enough to kill the whole free Sunday. 

The Croatian Muslim Party is part of HDZ says the poster on the corner of our street on a light pole, you have to turn around it to see the text properly. And that was the first time that I heard and rather see something directly to do with Muslims in this elections.. I known that at Paraga's HOS building hangs a black, great Croatian and Muslims flag and that green berets work together with HOS, but further connections weren't their. 

Somehow all Muslim activities are around the Muslim Center in Zagreb. One of the workcampers went their and was also at another Islamic place, were he saw Arabic volunteers, ready to fight the jihad against the Serbs. After a while all forces of real citizens of former-YU can go home and foreigners continue fighting, we will watch.

Boutros-Boutros Ghali and Carrington have started their own little war it seems if I read Dutch newspapers. When I told somebody from UNHCR this story she had tears in her eyes, she just returned from Somalia, which was named by Boutros Ghali, together with the Kurds and Cambodia as also important. Wars are not comparable she said, they are all bad in their own way. They never should be traded, manipulated with each other or rather amongst each other. The Job has to be down.

If you look around and know that every 10th person in Zagreb is a homeless and that in fact every fifth person in Croatia is a homeless and start to multiply those figures for other countries, maybe the Dutch realise that 4 million refugees in their country would be a problem, and for the German it would be around 17 million, a huge part of the former DDR, but without at least some houses and some jobs.

And that in a country with a very weak economy, price raised precisely 4 times, so something witch would cost me 200 Dinars (that moment 3 marks) 3 months ago, cost now at least 800 Dinars (that would be 5 marks). and except for Slovenia this is happening in each of the other republics as bad or much worst than in Croatia. 

The distance between poor and rich is growing with the day, from the total needed 141.925.600 US$ needed according to UNHCR only 50.955.161 arrived so far. That is not helping much, that 150 million has to come and now, not next year. Sorry for becoming a little angry. But don't forget those other countries outside former-YU. It is needed on all of those places.

Diary for sale !!!!

By now I really don't know in how many magazines, computernets and mailing lists my Diary ends up and in which form after it left my computer. And honestly I don't want to know. 

However it are becoming a lot of pages by now and Jim Forester have shown with his editing that out of these mass some people can make a nice book. I don't know if there arepublishers in the different countries who would be interesting in using my material as basis for a book. 

I trust every editor and translator completely, he or she can add and take out what ever they like , but it should be said that the story is edited by that person, it is on that moment his or hers responsibility as well.

I like to have to diary sold for one purpose and that is to establish a Za Mir computer network in the whole of former-YU. I believe that we have shown that E-mail can help, now and in the future.  My diary got known over the nets, so the nets should get most of the credits, I was here, but that was just coincidentally, it could have been anybody. You are important since you took the time to read and do something with it.

I think that after nearly 4 months I can raise a little money with it. So I like to sell it to every honest publisher, who like to publish and donated to this project. I am absolute green in that field and absolute don't know if it would bring any money. But if there are any possibilities please investigate them for me.

Not for me, but for the nets, and more important maybe for PEACE !!!!
